SHOW ME THE PROOF
I am a skeptic. I admit it. If somebody tells me something, I want proof and I'll spend hours and hours researching it. My experience with home air purification has been less than stellar to say the least. Early on in my personal experience with mold in my house, I bought an air purifier which put out Ozone (a Living Air unit), put it in my office where the mold was and turned it up to high. It was supposed to kill the mold. Good GOD did I get sick! Turns out Ozone is classified as a TOXIN by the EPA and I was pumping massive quantities of it into my house. I was sick enough from the mold, but the Ozone literally drove me out of my own office. Needless to say, I returned it for a refund. Then I got an air Purifier which was supposed to be highly rated (Blue Air). It did much better but I was still feeling not so great and the filter costs...sheesh! See the Whole HIn short, my experiences with Air filters wasn't the best. You see, most filters simply don't do the job. They pass way too much air not only around the filters because of poor design, but the filters they use are simply too course and literally let 90% of the gunk go right thru them. Don't believe me? Look at the particle size most filter down to. 3 microns is the industry standard. IQ Air's standard? 0.03 Microns. That is 100 TIMES finer than the industry standard. But...I don't want you to just take my word for it. When it comes to selling you an air filter, I expect to give you nothing less than 100% PROOF what I am selling you works. How can I do that? The ACID Test
When it comes to testing an air Purifier for filtration, there is one, and only one acid test...the Laser Particle Scanner. What this expensive little piece of portable lab gear does is very simple...it tests the overall count of particles in the air from 0.3 microns to 30 microns. If an air filter is really, truly doing its' job, you should be able to put the Particle Scanner into the output air stream and get a reading of ZERO. I did it in my own HealthPro Plus and you know what the reading was? Yup, you guessed it...zero, nada, zippo. That is proof right there on a calibrated lab test instrument's screen. So...I bought one.
