Questions and Answers...

Why Are They So Big?

Lets get this out of the way up front. These are NOT tiny little units. They are large. Because of their design, they are pretty unobtrusive, but they are not the slim little columns which are totally ineffective. So...why are they the size they are? Because in order for them to be effective...the HAVE to be! It takes a certain volume of filtration surface to be effective. A tiny little filter will filter a tiny little amount of air. In addition, it doesn't cost that much more money to make a larger, longer lasting HEPA filter than a smaller one. Because of this, and other reasons like the ultra fine pre-filter used, the Ultra HEPA filter will last far longer in an IQ Air purifier than in other units. They are larger, but this ends up costing you LESS money than other smaller units because you don't have to change the filters as often. If the size is something you can't get around, we have remote mounting options which allow us to mount the unit in a closet, garage, utility room, etc. and vent the intake and exhaust into your space.

"Why They More More Expensive Than Others I've Seen?"

Because in order for them to be effective, they have to be! A cheap filter is ineffective because it has neither the filtration technology, the effectiveness at filtering tiny particles 100X smaller than any other home air purifier. In addition, if you look at the airflow on many of the inexpensive units and then look at the claims of how much square footage can be covered, they don't make sense. The IQ Air units actually DO cover the amount of square footage they claim. You end up having to purchase several of the less expensive filters to do the job of one IQ Air unit and it does it FAR more effectively. In addition to better performance, the IQ Air units are built to last. he motor is large and well built for many years of use. They are also the ONLY purifier to come with a certification of performance. We'll also be more than happy to show you the effectiveness of the unit in your home with our laser Particle Scan Tester. Remember, you can spend a few hundred on a unit which is bound to end up in your garage or storage area. Or you can spend a little bit more and get a unit which is effective, will last decades and which is proven to work.

How Much Do They Cost To Run?

IQ Air units are very efficient. They cost about as much to run on a medium setting as a small lightbulb. By using a larger, slower moving fan, they use less power. They are a green product!

Are they Noisy?

The answer to that question is...it depends. It depends on the fan speed you have them on. Many people can put the unit in their bedroom and turn it on low and go right to sleep. On high, it is going to creates some noise. That is why there is a timer. You can set the unit to turn on high when you are not home and turn on slow and quiet when you are. If you are ultra sensitive to noise, our remote mounting option is something you should consider.
